POLICE SHOT FRENCH COUPLE DEAD!
What temerity that a shooting instructor pigeon-holes a doctor and his lady-friend as “the two mad ones: liars & chancers”!
And for the news reporters to make the faux pas of labeling this French Medical Doctor as “mister” on the front page of our Sunday Newspaper.
Out of deference to the sanctity of the human soul, I am compelled to vent my anger.
This now strengthens the case for Mr. Shrien Devani not to be tried in South Africa, after the police-chief called him a monkey, and now trigger-happy cops shoot a doctor and his lady-friend dead.
Common sense says fist surround the house, then warn the two with a loud-hailer, use tear-gas if necessary, and as a last resort rubber-bullets.
But to shoot them dead, like wild dogs, makes me – as a South African – hang my head in shame.
The people of Sutherland then celebrated in the local pub.
We are, without a shadow of doubt, a barbaric society.
